can you make a hybrid gearbox from an F10/13/15?
what is the panel that the coil and header tank is on? is it the inner wing?
can you still get them because i have been told no.
does anyone have fibreglass doors? how much do they cost and what is there weight?
thanks
if you want to make a hybrid gearbox cluster from them boxes then go ahaed
inner wings can still be bought from local motor factors
fibreglass doors dont weigh much at all but im not sure if theyre illegal coz the windows have to be persex, think theyre track only stuff.
colin smith normally has some for sale, emial him

you can get some fiberglass doors that will take glass, but still not suitalbe for road use so not a lot of point + they are damn expensive!
heaqder tank and coil bolt onto passenger side arch above the wheel just inside the inner wing - I think thyre mounted on plates :?:
As far as I am aware you can still get coil and header tank from vauxhall - probably a little pricey mond. Theres another place that make parts for a nova - its in the car mechanics magazlne - something like vauxstyle and theyre much cheaper (I'll try n find theyre proper name/site) - if u need coil/header tank let me know coz theres a scrappy near me with 3 novas in it (1.2's).
Check out novarally.co.uk for doors - Colin (the guy that runs the site) had some for sale the other month but theyre not road legal (perspex windows).
:D [/url]
go to a motor factors and ask to buy an inner wing repair panel for a nova. remember it will need welded in. alternatively take it to a garage, they can weld up the old inner wings with new plates
Perspex windows not road legal!!!???
Shit, I've just put some plycarbonate ones in the steel doors of my car so if you are right its not road legal?
Are you sure cos as far as I know thats not the case? Incidently it would also make Brett Warburtons car illegal on the road and he's done a magazine feature where he has clearly driven to and from the shoot in his car ( Total Vaux mag a month or so ago)
??? :?
to be honest mate, ive been talking to my mate about it and i think its the fibreglass doors etc that rnt road legal, not the windows, ill check though

i am sure that both fiberglass doors and perspex windows are legal just not very suitable for road use. cant see how the fiberglass doors wouldnt be legal as most of citroens and fiats etc are made of fiberglass anyhow and all the kit cobra kitcars etc are too. and as for the perspex windows there was a mad phase of this in the 80's with all the boys in mk1 and mk2 escorts all had perspex windows with sliders etc, was legal just FCUKING noisy and draughty!
yeah as i said mate i wasnt sure.
i thought fibre glass doors were illegal coz they arent strong enuff on side impacts????
i could be sooooo wrong here like, its just what i thought like.

thats the story of my entire cars life, i always manage to find the hard way round, but will be worth it in the end!
read the doors not being road legal on colin smiths nova rally site (sure it was there) - theres no reinforcement in them (or something like that) and they need glass in them that confirms to certain eu laws (like having clear indicators on yer rear end) - something to do with the kite mark?
Anyone know a good car lawyer?
