corsa sri 16v

hi can any1 help me? ive got 1 95' corsa sri 1.4 16v. i want to know why it limits at 5000 rpm. when i first start it up and drive it, it limits normal (6800 rpm) can any1 help me cheers.

Cold start issues maybe? , shouldnt rant a cold engine anyway.
