Whilst this (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/viewfeaturecar.php?ref=3403) is currently off the road having some new gears added, I've been driving this (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/viewfeaturecar.php?ref=3398).

I was considering having a cheap standard nova as a runabout to keep miles off the Celica. If standard novas are anything like standard pooloos (and if memory serves correct they're not far off), I'm glad I'm putting a bigger fuel injected engine in the saloon lol

Widen the steelies
Coilovers
1.6 16v lupo gti engine and box (6 speed)
mk2 golf GTi brakes
strip it with cream leather dash and buckets :cool:

I know exactly what I want to do with it (aside from burn it) but I'm not allowed :(

Wonder if you can get a weber T40 manifold for the 1043cc engine... lol

Well i've seen T40's on a 1.3 polo mk2.... and if memory serves the 1.0 and 1.3 are the same, just differant displacement;) lol

fpmsl just had a vision of her driving down the road and pushes the button for the mirror and all of a sudden she goes into warp factor ten. the look on her face would be a rite picturelol

Sort out the naff running and leaks and it'd actually be a damned fun car to drive...

That's the problem, dad and richard have had a go at fixing it. No petrol leaks for a while then car decides it does not need all this petrol!! Dad said oil leaks on old cars are standard.

And yes it is fun to drive, especially when it stalls randomly:D

I reckon replace most of the hoses - the ones I looked at last night looked f#cked - head gasket, spark plugs, distributor, fuel lines and filter etc and it should run better. TBH on that car it'll probably only cost ?50 to do the head gasket and all service parts :D

I think its leaking round the oil filter too.

I think martin still has the T40 weber carbs... all I need now is some fuel hoses, inlet manifold and some throttle linkages. Ebay tonight methinks :D

I think its only fair that when the GT4 gets back that UntaimedGirl should have a few weeks running around in it as payment for letting you use her car :D

Battery has had it. I don;t think the alternator is charging it properly either as after jumping it and running for a while off another car, as soon as you take the leads off it dies.

Could be an earth problem though - its been running like a dog for a while...
