No spark on c20xe

I recently put a redtop in my nova, and there doesnt seem to be a spark from the coil, im not sure if there is a live feed but how do i know and what else could it be? It ran in the car i took it from and the ecu works in this car as it controls the fuel pump which is working, so what could it be and is there a way of just giving the coil power for a short run i.e. just by not using the engine loom?

Nope not wired up, i literelly just want it to run or fire for a few seconds.

How do you mean "not use the engine loom"
The engine loom needs 3 wires joining for the engine to run.
Perm live, ign live and fuel pump

Check crank sensor, AFAIK it supplies signal to the ecu that the engine is turning, only then does the ecu trigger the coil to activate
