my engine decided to give up today.. its a 1400 8v with 1300 SR head on and twin 40's.

instead of re-building it i have found a sri engine near me cheap..so i thought about getting that and fitting my webbers to it. will it be any better with a sri engine and head? what will i need to do to the sri engine to run sr ignition setup and twin 40's.. what else do i need to do? please list everything that i will need to do?

cheers,
Greg

Yeah it will be better.
Keep with the cam you have now and the ingnition will be fine.

You'll need a round port inlet manifold tho.

so do i run 1400 sri block, 1400 head with 1300 cam and box? is that what you mean?

i dont know which my inlet manifold is..it was on an sr before i got it.. cant remember is its square or round.

will my 40's go on and run ok with square port on manifold if it is?

anything else i need to remember?

cheers,
Greg

The manifold wont match the head, so that will loose you power.

What ignition setup are you using?

Just buy the whole sri engine, fit the dizzy/coil, and the 40s.

i am using a 1300 sr dizzy and coil..

will the sr dizzy fit straight onto the sri? the sri has a dizzy module etc doesnt it..will it just unbolt? will my sr dizzy match the sri cam?

long live the nova, what did you do? 1400 sri engine complete, sr dizzy and coil?
