Anyone actually run/use one?

Im quite tempted to get the cam and head from one of my 1600 engines sent away to autosprint to have some work done on them (both head & cam are sold on an exchange basis) but im not to sure wether either are worth it?

Ive looked into the similiar Courtenay parts that are presently avalible for a 1600, but im not prepared to pay there OTT prices TBH.

Auto Sprint Fast Road Cam - ?87.50 exchange
Auto Sprint Stage 1 Cam - ?77.50 exchange
Auto Sprint Gas Flowed & Polished Head From - ?295.50 exchange

Anyone have input on this??

Mike.

It depends just how good "stage 1 cam", and the headwork is...

Ask for the profile spec

I've had a lot of work done by Geoff at Autosprint over the years, his headwork is superb and he can make pretty much any cam u like! I currently have head, cams, L+B bottom end, re-bored/honed block, lightened flywheel all done by him. He did a lot of the work on Lawrence Bonds 1400 16v sprint nova, which used to be an absolute animal of a car.
Highly recommended. :thumb:

i've got an autosprint big valve head and stage 3 cams for my xe. The chaps advice is spot on and he's always up for a chat if you need to discuss your needs. i was gonna get my head through sbd/courtney but he reckons he makes the heads for them and they sell it on with their cut. My mate needed lifters for his let.Vauxhall price was ?40ish per lifter on a late engine cos they reckon theres two part nos (early and late type).i rang autosprint to ask and he said rubbish, sold us a full set for?106 plusp+p and they turned up the next day. Cars fine now. Alot of my mates are in the trade and i've shown them the head i've had done and they can't fault it (and its a cos cast).Cant fault his info, been doing engines for a long time and he knows his stuff!

Is this before or affter you pop to mine? lol

Might give him a bell to see if he deals with, or knows the best place in the midlands near by to get MBE mapped.

I used these blokes for my performance bits
http://www.ctmperformance.co.uk/content.asp?mid=1

Was going to use autosprint but when i rang matey to discuss head work he kept telling the 20XE had round ports, so it put me off some what.

His prices are as low as he can go, I'd feel guilty even asking him to reduce his prices. He literally works out of a shed and his overheads are minimal. He's always willing to put that extra bit of effort and time in if you have an urgent request but please don't take the piss. Geoff really is one of a kind, it's virtually impossibe to find people/companies like him that are keen to help, produce excellent work and don't rip you off in the process.
