im looking to buy a nova turbo or a xr2 mk2 2.1zvh turbo for track days, has any one tried them both, which is better for track days, if both had around 250bhp which would be quicker/reliable? any help or opions would be great...:)

Those fiestas are quite fast when done right, I would say the nova would be more reliable assuming its a c20let. If your building it for track use then you will be changing the suspension ect... on it anyway so handling will similiar.

there have been some fast xr2 track cars but at the same time some fast nova's personel preferance really as most things will be after market so reliability wise! meh

cheers for the opions and coments, the thing is ive had both in the past, and i like them both as much as each other, so im trying to get ideas of what they are both like turbo charged a) driveability b) reliability.also does anyone know roughly how much, say a standard nova gsi with c20let in it weights? what sort of power can you expect from a c20let with a mild tune ie filter remap/chip exhaust?

expect 260bhp from filter/chip. 280 with fuel reg/filter/chip/fmic

Nova gsi with c20let and 6 speed with full interior900kg, with no interior and weight loss mine weighed 780kg

very impressive, they must go like fu*k, what can i expect 0-100mph to be roughly, or quarter mile run, apperently an xr2 turbo 2.1 zvh did it in 12.9 @115 which is fast...

^^ think paul is about 12.9ish, loads of people in the 12s with novas / corsas. Long time ago a time 12 was a quick time lol. Avergage time for a c20let nova / corsa is mid 13s to late 12s depending on what has been done.

I think the average 0-100 time is 9-10 seconds, last time I checked I was down to 8s I think. There are also some zetecs doing 11s as well.
