View Full Version : boot popper wiring trouble
I have wired my boot popper onto the same wires that my rear wiper used to be on. But now i have decided i dont want it on my indicator stalks anymore so can i just cut the old rear wiper wires from the back of the sender unit thing on the back of my stalks and install them onto a switch/button? thanks:thumb:

The rear wiper wiring changed over the nova's build years. In all cases I think that the stalk switches +ve (Black/violet) to Black / yellow wire. This then either feeds what is now your popper directly, or via a 'rear wiper relay(most cars). So the answer to your question is yes, disconnect black / yellow wire only (leave black / violet on otherwise front screen wash maybe affected), And wire your switch between the two aforementioned wires. Note that I have seen three slightly different alternatives of wiring in haynes manual, this procedure should be fine in all cases.
Thanks alot mate, thats a great help
