the amal valve is the boost controller (wel part of it. the ecu will limit the boost to something like 21 psi unless its a chipped item then that could be more....

If I were you, I'd save up and get a proper turbo from a proper supplier...

Depends on a lot of things really, like if your running 1/2 inch boost pipes then 30psi might sound alot but it wouldnt be flowing much air. I also ran no amal valve on mine while on standard management, was boosting to about 27psi but I increased my boost pipes an inlet so that same boost wll now flow more air. Boost can be quite deceptive as high boost doesnt really mean high power.

I will be running mine on megasquirt when some more bits turn up lol

only got a grand to spend to get it up and runing so on a budget the omex i can get for a decent amount as a friend of a friend works for them so i have to get the turbo with that money aswell

Fair enough money might be tight but you seem to have spent a fair bit on the engine (pistons / head ect ...) so why risk wrecking it all by buying a cheapo Turbo ? wait a bit longer and save a bit more money, it'll be worth it in the long run.

what sort of money is a decent one then as new to all this turbo stuff ie t3 or t34
