ignition barrels

Hello, I snapped my ignition barrel last night on my h reg sr, So i removed it just now. I also removed the barrel from my J reg merit, intending to swap them over.

But they are different, and they dont fit the other lock. Is this normal? I assumed I could just switch them over easy as.

Not sure if it would make a difference but could the ignition barrel in the Merit be from another type of vauxhall?

Not sure mate, Got it sorted now. It was just the steering lock being a pig! :)
