View Full Version : Wide Steels Size and Colours
I've just purchased some SRi Steelies of RJ which I want banded, found the company who do it, but I don't know what size to go...
would 14x7 fit? I guess the offset stays the same? What size tyres would I need?
Just to note my other wheels are 15x6.5 iirc ET38. (195/45/15)
Also, which one?

Imagine there a 2" dish on there and skinny tyres ;)

I do like the black centre with polished lip but black centre with red lip is something different.
As much as I hate to admit it, I agree with CorsaTot34
The offset would change if the wheels are widened!

standard with stretched tyres, spacers and centers (if you can find some)
Spacers will be a no-no, if he's getting them widened on the outside.
lol just noticed the colour change on the car too :D

Jim Davidson called. He wants his sense of humour back.
Ah, so the offset will be changed. Guess I need to speak to the company about all of that then. I still thing 14x7's are achivable without any more arch work tho.
lol just noticed the colour change on the car too :D
Meant to say excuse the poor photoshops lol but you need to see the colour to see the wheels against it and I couldn't be ****d to find a differant photo
Funny how I can only read 3 of the 5 replys.... lol
Don't seem to mention offset on the site (http://www.wide-wheels.co.uk/WideWheels.html).

Black centre, polished lip.
As for width, how much clearance do you have on the inside with a mate sat on the wing?
Don't seem to mention offset on the site (http://www.wide-wheels.co.uk/WideWheels.html).
Offset is measured from the hub face to the centreline of the wheel. Widen the wheel and the centreline will change, thus the offset changes.
See my excellent diagram :D
Example of a "normal" wheel:

And the same wheel with the outer rim widened:

On a Nova wheel, extending the outside rim will lower the offset. The diagram above is quite extreme, the outer rim has been widened a lot so caused the offset to go from negative to positive.

I was going to suggest 7 or 7.5J. I think the arches will need modding tbh.
It only gets the proper effect if they look squeezed in tbh.

get the arches flared and go for 8"lol - what width are the nova steels originally
depends what use you want from those wheels..... if you want a particular type of tyre then look at their 14" fitment listings and picka rim size that fits a 205mm 14" tyre (if many make that size lol)
not a fan of stretched on tyres as its asking to unseat the bead and rip the tyre off lol
Just for show and general 'pimping' I'll have a measure up on the shell later, doesn't seem too hard to figure out. Cheers for the diagrams Rj :thumb:
