how to wanted for xe nova gearlinkage

hey guys my linkage is shockiong bad so just wondering if anyone can tekk me how to do it, i turned the plastic white bit around, where it meets the gearbox box selector bit. its going into gears but its making banging noises like when i put it into gear it hits the engine mount? also i put it as far forward as possiblre but when in nuetral it still sits far back and doesant always have enough room to go back into 4th if your drving it hard ish! anyone can help id appreciate it!

Undo the bolt on the clamp that holds the linkage to the rod that goes to the gearstick, put the box into either 5th or reverse, hold the stick in the right place for your chosen gear, then get someone to tighten the clamp back up.

ive done that but the bar connected to the gear stick is sitting as far in as it can on the gear linkage, as in i cant get it any further from forth when in neutral, there fore its barely engaging forth at the mo.

you mean put it in reverse and put down a pin in the hole on top of the box?
