taken off the gearbox mount

Ive just started taken the gearbox mount off ready to weld the 6speed one on. And got to say im finding it one pain job to do. Is it was seem welded around and that doesnt make it any easyer. Has anyone else had a problem with doing it or just me. And how has everyone taken there's off?

Just drill the spot welds?

yea but as its been seem welded around the mount. its abit harder to do then that

Oh right, i thought it was just spot welded.

Looks like its grinder time then.

Yea ive had ago already got most off it off. but the main bit on the leg is a right pain. ive managed to get a screwdriver under it to raise it from the leg abit to hammer it off. but just wont move. only thing i can think off now is just going over it untill i grind it back to the actual leg. what you think to that

Yeah.
Just make sure you leave enough thickness of metal to get a decent weld for the new mount.
