got my de-cat pipe come through the otherday. had a chance today to have a quick look at fitting it. quickly came across a problem though... the join at the bottom of the downpipe has 3 bolts in a triangle formation holding the current CAT on. my de-cat has a bracket with only two holes for bolts. is this a common problem, and is it easily solved?

so youve got a cat manifold (GSi/SRi) but a de-cat designed for a non cat system by the sounds of it?

well, i'm not sure of the difference other than one having a cat and one not having a cat. but from what you just said, what's the point in a de-cat piece of pipe designed for a car without a cat anyway?

Youve got a SPi.
And a de-cat designed for a Sri/Gsi.

Thats the problem.

The flanges are different.

bugger :\

is there anyway around this? i have a feeling that sending the part back will be out of the question now.

Fit a Sri/Very late GSi Exhaust manifold/Downpipe
Then the de-cat.

Then that should bolt to your Spi mid box.

owww, sounds like more work than i was hoping! ah well!

how easy is it to source the sri manifold and downpipe? is it the same diameter as all the other engines, even though the engine is bigger?

There quite rare to find for sale tbh.
Should add a bit of power to your engine too, as the downpipe is a twin branch design.

System diameter is the same.
