... An F plate 1.2 carb, quite innocent. It is a project tho, admittedly with not much time to put into it it will be a slow one but I will get there eventually (there being a 2.0i 8v road toy).

Id almost say rot free but it has battery tray issues! - clean everywhere else tho - mint arches and underneath. Main annoying bits are where someone has removed the badges and rub strips with a lump hammer...... Interior is 'nice' too but anyway - pics:

It is a 71l yes - plans are (eventually) the long tried and tested route - suspension, brakes, 2.0i in, cage, buckets - play! Not really got much time to look at it yet tho!

Thats the one. Wasn't sure of the correct name.

Vauxkid75, check the link in my sig to the colour code chart so you can get the right code and right shade of red.

[edit] obviously check the colour code on your VIN plate first to make sure its right.

Nearly ready for test!

Had the battery tray neatly plated, serviced the brakes (so they now work..), put a cv boot on it and got the missing seatbelt (many thanks - you know who you are!) I think it should mot now once ive sorted the minor issue of tyre scrubbage on the back!

Not really - unless I get fed up with the tyre scrubbing problem and end up going smaller. If I do they'll be on here!

Now passed its mot and had a set of tyres. But jesus does it need some suspension and brakes.....

Prey
28-11-07, 10:56 AM
Now with 2.0ltr brakes - makes a big difference!

Forgot to put thats to olly (trackdaynova) for the brakes!

Also bought his old bucket seats so those will be going in soon.

Yesterday put the suspension (spax psx that i got from TomMan - cheers pal) on - jesus christ its a massive difference over standard, combined with the bigger brakes, new tyres and loss of a load of weight its made a big improvement to the car as a point-to-point motor - even with the 1.2 as it is.

Before:

After:
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i144/prey001/nova/DSC01253.jpg

Not a massive difference granted, -40mm I think, but it does handle much better! Have it set really soft at the moment as the roads round us are really bad - but I might notch it up a bit depending.

Then I caught some cheeky ****e trying to nick it......

I was hoping for a bit lower myself but its not going to help that theres no interior or spare etc in it I guess.

Looking good Alan :) Well done matey

cheers mate - just got to get some harnesses and then I can get those seats swapped out.

Seats and harnesses now in!

Seats from olly (trackdaynova) and harnesses from tom reid, thanks chaps, always a pleasure!

Firstly old seats out:

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i144/prey001/nova/DSC01287.jpg

Then eye bolts in - side ones went into original fixings, centres were drilled and bolted through tunnel with large back plates bent to fit:

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i144/prey001/nova/DSC01292.jpg

Shoulder straps were going to be eye bolted too but then I found these seat belt brackets in the garage so fixed them to the original rear selt belt mounts and threaded harnesses through:

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i144/prey001/nova/DSC01288.jpg

Lovely old seats......

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i144/prey001/nova/DSC01289.jpg

Seats and belts in:

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i144/prey001/nova/DSC01295.jpg

And the pedestrian view (pics all taken on cam phone im afraid):

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i144/prey001/nova/DSC01296.jpg

Thats about it before fitting the engine now I think - although on the look out for some anti roll bars and strut braces. And I need to sort the steering wheel and door cards, and the inside needs painting, and the dash too... oh and I need to lose the bumper irons and any other weight saving that turns up.... ah well maybe not quite that far gone yet....

Now got to get the conversion bits ready.....

Prey
03-01-08, 01:12 PM
still need to sell me those wheels tho ;) lol

Im quite sold on them now unfortunately - I think the shape suits the nova but they do look 'standard' and the new tyres have given me no agro!

its very far from coming along ha ha - its come to a dead stop in fact!

I wouldn't say that - just touchy about the (lack of) progress that I've made on this.....

As soon as my house is sorted and I empty the garage I can fetch the nova and start.....
