whats the law on useing an a-frame to tow a car?

dose the car being towed need tax,mot, inscurance?
can you use one with a normal car licence?
thats the wheight size limit of the car being towed?

how old and what licence do you need to tow a car transporter?

the usual towing rule is that if your licence was issued after 1997, you can only tow a trailer that is no more than 750kg or 85% the weight of the towing vehicle.
You can tow more if you have a hgv class1 licence or have taken a trailer towing test.
Are you planning to recover a vehicle, or tow one to an event?

Its illegal to use an A bar or a dolly to TRANSPORT a vehicle. You can only use them to RECOVER.

A trailer is the only legal option to move your car about, although myself and Christian used to dolly our track cars and never got any bother from the law.
