View Full Version : VAG-Opel Show
It all started at 4am on a dark Saturday morning (2 weeks ago). I somehow managed to get up and dressed to a reasonable standard before hitting the road in this Astra SRI turbo Panorama. It was awsome being able watch the sunrise panorama style

Arrived at the meeting place then travelled to the tunnel. Dougie having a chat with the blokes with the LMF Corsa... Tasty :p

The tunnel wasn't half as bad as I'd expected, but I spent most of the time sitting in the Astra reading Cosmo.

Arrived in France feeling relieved to be back in the daylight! The weather was lovely and we then had an uneventful yet scenic convoy up to Belgium. Mr. Turds was ready for some action :D

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n225/lynz_sr/IMG_4176.jpg
Then we drove around the village about 15 times trying to find the hotel and somewhere to park... GRRR! Finally got there and unloaded, they had carpeted walls... how cool!!
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n225/lynz_sr/IMG_4242.jpg
Went and got some pics of the cars (AOC) in a local multi storey:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n225/lynz_sr/IMG_4207.jpg
We went down to the bar at the hotel (I love that they don't measure the drinks!!) then went in the search for some good (English) food. Well, the place was a ghost town. There wasn't a person in sight!
Now to the show...
Sunday morning we were all supposed to be down for breakfast at 8am. I was in a kerfuffle over hair straighteners and plugs  so completely missed it, along with the rest of them who had stayed out drinking til the early hours.
When we finally got there, the place was quite empty... The AOC got their stand set up

I spotted this sitting opposite us :thumb:
http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n225/lynz_sr/IMG_4271.jpg
Went for a wonder around, there were also lots of really nice VWs mmm :p
Anyway, here are a few of the cars :D
Local police joining the AOC hehe

Looks like a cool show. Brings back the memories of the Belgium shows I went to. They have some odd tastes but overall they manage to detail & build cars like we never could tbh.
Retro 70's RWD Opels are where its at IMO.

its more that styling stuff over there is a lot cheaper since power upgrades cost lots and lots .... and all day/night drinking helps lol

Yeah love their drink, the euro's. I'll never forget being woken up by 'scorpions, wind of change' in the campsite at the show I went to. Looked out the camper window & everyone was drinking Stella, at 8am!

They're banded steelies, Standard GTE/SR wheels widened, good news is they can be done in uk, (don't think they're road legal tho) think it's ?300ish to have a set of four done professionally.
Popular in the vdub scene ;)
Thanks, I will be looking into finding more info if anyone knows where they can be done :)

[edit] The Grey one
Looks well smooth, possibly the only case of colour coded (non Gsi) mk2 bumpers I've liked .
Shame about the 'fried egg' in the indicators, needs silvertech bulbs & the filter pulling out.

same wheels are under the creme coloured sedan ;)
here in the netherlands it's about 100,- to widen a set of 4:eek:
a bit off-topic...
is there a vauxhall meeting in the UK what is worth traveling from here (netherlands)?
me and some friends are playing with the idea to visit a meet in the UK.
mayhem if your going to come over for a show make it performance vauxhall show at santa pod. probably the best show we have imo.
