i think in the haynes museum the nova there has done 9 miles from new. they but the cars to write the manuals on then put them abck together and then they go in the museum.

Heartbreaking story......

Friend of mine got GIVEN a 23k Nova about 2 years ago from the receptionist at the VW dealership he worked at. It had been sat for about 3 years on her driveway & she'd just bought a new Beetle.

Anyhow, I drove it back from her place & it was a stunning drive (for a 1.2 Spi merit+). Gorgeous gear change & lovely feel to steering etc & bonus Kylie tape in the player. LOL

The door bottoms were shot & a headlamp was discoloured, as you'd expect the Flame Red paint was now lame Pink.

I couldnt afford to buy it off him for ?300 at the time as it was suggested I use it to reshell my GSi, it was that solid everywhere.

He did sell it & some Emo looking girl got bought it by her Dad. 2 years later, every panel is totally funked, lights put in & generally looking so sorry.

I mkight get pics as I see it daily & it makes me sad (seriously) oh & the hazard warning switch & drivers headlamp are still mine technically.

Lowest mileage I have seen would be my mums old Nova Flair 1.2i

19k I think we got it with and sold it on with close to 30k

think the sri i got only has about 45,000 on it but has been sat on a drve for the last 3 years never cleaned and now i think im gonna scrap it,,
i havnt left it on the drive i just had it,
but boyfriend will cry he hates seeing novas going for scrap we got 3 now

1.0l g reg (base model) 7900 miles, now got a 1.6 gte engine in.

first nova I drove back in 1985, on L plates, was my grandad's 1.2 merit 3door & had 1600miles on the clock. My grandad died & my sister & I were allowed to drive it as long as we looked after it. my sister drove it & put fuel in, I drove it & started learning about things like head gaskets. I bought it from my gran & had that car till 1991 when a cavalier squashed it.

mine was 46k when i bought it 5 years ago and i've only done 15k since. Not low low milage i know. I did find out this week that my Gran bought a brand new 1.3SR in black back in '86. Wish it stayed in the family.
