where to get a tune up.

Im in the uxbridge, middx area. Im after a tune up for my car, a standard Nova SRi, just a general one. like a full diagnoses and tune. Does any one know of any good ones around my area or any where around ym area where i can get a good one recommended.

What sort of price am i looking at?

do a search on yell.com for a cyrpton tuner in your area. always heard good things about these. they can make sure your timing and ignition is correct. give the car a good service.

before you bother with a tune up though, first check and if needed replace all the standard service items like plugs leads rotor arm dizzy cap etc

these engines cant actually be tuned like an equivilant carb engine could be, this is mainly becuase the engine has various sensors dotted around it (lamda sensor, block temp sensor, map sensor, crank sensor etc.), and these sensors tell the computer when the fuel trim etc needs altering. So there is no adjustment screws or air flow mass meters that can be messed with to make it run smoother. So basically jus service it yourself, change the oil, filter, plugs, leads dissy cap rotor arm (unless its DIS) and it should run sweet. Hope this helps 8)
