well actually the wife did.

Only went "looking" for a new "vehicle" on Saturday - stopped at one showroom and ended up buying a 4x4!

:eek::eek::eek:

Actually theres a reason - wife's bought a new horse and rather then buy a horse box (we had one last year but when prev horse died we sold it) thought more practical to get 4x4 and a trailer.

So got a Kia Sorento 2.5 CRDi XE (or summut like that). Amazing value - 07 plate - 2 months old (pre reg) excellent trade in on the volvo (53 plate 2ltr s40 sport) and because they kept us hanging about all day Saturday trying to find a feckin post office that was open to tax it, and we couldnt drive it away on the day, got 2 free services too - and a set of mats!

For the price and the spec inside (as well as it winning awards for best towing capacity 2 yrs running in its class) it was a steal.

I fancied a Landy but as its wifes motor and she does a fair few miles to work and back she wants comfort.

Was sorry to see the Volvo go - was a lovely car and although the Sorento's a higher tax bracket (something to do with the colour green?) it should be cheaper to run that the Volvo (which drank petrol for the hell of it!)

It's getting a tow bar fitted next week...

Anyone know where I can source a nice set of rusty bull bars?

There not bad motors. Seen one in bright metallic blue with the same gray trimming and they look good.

They're not bad, but for god's sake, keep it forever! The depreciation on them is HUMUNGOUS!

I did a deal with a customer, he traded one in 12 months old, he'd paid ?15995 new, it was worth ?8000!!!!!!!!

for god's sake, drive it over a ploughed field, I hate 4x4's that are shiny. My l200 (07 reg but the last of the old shape) has been washed once in 4 months

pmsl - tax is ?300 apparently. The pics were taken with it less than 24 hours old. Has since been up to the horse yard and has some "splatter".

Tried to get a tow bar thrown in - wife got a little stroppy at one point and made an "I'M BORED" noise when we were in the showroom watching the welsh lose at rugby after drinking our 5th cuppa coffee. Werent having it - summut to do with them getting an outside contractor in to do it all.

Still 2 free services is okay - takes us up to 2009.
