well, the name is basically because me and my twin are working on this one...

after having a little accident on the m4 coming back from uni at xmas, my road raly gte looked a little sorry for itself...

then i purchased this and a replacement...

but got screwed over by the insurance company and it was going to cost too much to carry on the insurance when it expired. so... it was sold and i purchased my manta gte, and left my written off gte on the drive where it became a skip for lots of parts...

now i've finished uni and have some money coming in, i thought it was about time i pulled my finger out...

so, i bought a k-reg 1.2i merit plus in a rather faded red colour. car has had some welding to the rear arches and has some rusty patches couple of small scrapes shown in the pic near the arch, it tcut or buff out. but nothing serious and is pretty tidy. forgot to mention, the head gasket has gone looks like puffing billy... whole car will be cut back using g3, then go from there with the paint.

grinded the rust back and the underseal on the welded areas. cleaned it all up and skimmed it with filler. the car is going to be used for road rallying/track use so doesn't have to be perfect, but i want it to look smart  but actually came out well! from the bump strips down is going to be sprayed black with stone guard.

going to folkestone in the morning with a van and buying everything karl (rdznova16v (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/member.php?u=20114)) has to offer from his poor gte.

then this week, i'll drop the 1.2 out, paint the engine bay white as there is no rust what so ever :thumb: and put the 1.6 in :D

i'm not going to rush the project, but i have limited garage space and o
i want the engine in and loom wired up and engine running before i spend time welding up hte chassis. i hate wiring, so i know its going to take a long time, and not doubt they'll be many a post regarding bits and bobs...

will update as things progress. hopefully at a steady pace :p

Why paint the engine bay white on a red car? Or are you going for a full outside respray as well?

outside will stay red... the engine bay will go white purely to show up oil and coolant leaks...
