Because the new reg cannot be newer than the car, ie you can't have a T reg private plate on a J reg Nova.

Yes, C16 on a J-plate is fine.

Afaik as i know, no one on here/mig has a turbo'd small block 1600 16v.

Either use Mvaux bits (they do a 350bhp kit for X16XE now) or use the turbo from the Corsa VXR on the 16XE head. However low comp pistons & full management system is needed. The prospect of doing a proper job of it, puts off many people.

Its a bit more involved than pocket money & a Saturday afternnon on the driveway with the Draper socket set.

I thought of using vxr bits, and they look like they would fit, ports etc look the same.
Tho you dont see many vxr's in scrappies to rob bits from,Lol.

I have a feeling Mvaux have shut down, sites been down for ages.

wouldn't you need the inlet too and a whole host of sensors etc? Would it run on a decent aftermarket management?

Use an inlet top box, that can take boost pressure.
And run the boost pipe up the drivers inner wing.

Or, with the brake servo gone out the way, i bet you could route a boost pipe over the gearbox directly onto the standard tb position.
How much power the standard upper inlet would rob im not sure.

you make it sound so do-able lol
would be good to see, something different

yeah thats always the problem...cash or the lack of!!
And I've got a X16XE sat in my garage. lol
What would you need to buy then seeing that you have given it some thought

Turbo, Manifold, Manztel inlet or some sort of power box, intercooler, management and lower the compression.

Thats off the top of my head, mite have missed a few things, think there the main things tho.

compression is the big issue IMO. No one wants to make pistons for me. I hope Mvaux is just the site hosts have gone down maybe?

The std inlet wont rob bhp like it does to N/A as the turbo will blow down the intake, with N/A the pistons have to pull against the inlet tract/back pressure.

Aye.
Which saves having to buy a mantzel etc.
Plus the boost hose routing will be easier.

Compression and management/mapping are the key bits.
And all the small bits which cost, like a sump oil return, moving the oil filter etc. Best to run a oil cooler too

Something like a T2/T25 turbo would be ideal.
