View Full Version : 1.6 into 1.0
Hi there's a cheap, low mileage 1L hatch near me.
Was wondering what would be needed for an engine swap, will it be the same as if I put a 1600 engine into say a 1.2i?
Cheers, Tom
No, its harder than a 1.2i.
Needs fuel tank, fuel lines, drivers side engine mount.
Then its the same as a 1.2.
ah right, what would be a realistic price for the conversion do you think?

ask your local garages is best as we can only guess
To be honest I think people on here would have a better idea of what the engine, fuel tank, lines etc would cost rather than my local garage.

Engine ?50-200 depending on condition.
Lines ?local motor factor
Tank ?local motor factor
You'll need to run a fresh ignition live to the coil as the 1l one isnt 12V.
You could do it in one day.
The cost of the bits aint the problem, a garage will ask you to source the bits anyway.
Its the labour.
At minimum, its a day job, at ?40 an hour labour.
