I have just got my nova on the road! the catalyst is on its last legs though. can i remove it and still pass an mot?. whats the best way? Thanks

Yeah you can remove it, I don't think you legally have to have it, but you'll still need to pass the emissions test. You can use a normal 1.2 carb exhaust section to replace the cat part, I did it myself when I had a 1.2i spin.

When was your car first registered?

As said, you don't physically need a cat, but will probably need it for emissions if your car is >K reg.

If its a k-plate, it will have a cat test at mot time, so it'll be needed.

slightly different question... if i'm putting a gte lump in a k-reg car... will i need a cat?!?
