Im considering buying some bigger brakes but just wanted to make sure of something before i do! 256mm is 2.0 and 288mm is v6 is that correct? Does everything just bolt on? What about the flexi hoses?

i know that the 16v brakes bolt straight on, although you need to run astra gte 14" wheels or bigger. i used the standard flexi hoses, althoughupgraded to braided hoses after a while.

not sure on v6 brakes.

Ive just been looking on LMF and theyve got 288mm listed as straight bolt on so i presume then it must? Why did you swap to braided hoses? Did you have trouble with the standard 1's?

braided hold presser better dont give a spongey feel and lesss prone to leaking as made from metal brading

the 288mm v6 brakes are 5 stud and you will need to re-drill to 4 stud

and the 288's have MASSIVE pistons which will give emmense pedal travel before the braking actually starts.

Plenty of people use the 288's with no issues. LMF sell them as a 4 stud kit.

If you source them from a Vectra from a scrapyard for example, you will need to redrill them to 4 stud & use a spigot ring to locate the discs centrally on the hub(s). I assume the spigotts come with LMF's kit?

[Edit] Calibra turbo/Cav V6 are bigger disc size with the same slave cyl as the 256 (16v) setup.

Cally Turbo calipers dont have the same size piston cylinder as a 256 setup.
They are bigger than 256, but smaller than V6.

They do give a better pedal than v6 tho, v6 pedal is terrible imo.
