View Full Version : silly i know
its probly a stupid question for you guys but why is the spring that holds my pads on rubbing against my wheel and cutting in :tard: its a 2.0 16v nova same with brakes. cheers :thumb:
speed lines 16" thatswhat i cant understand, it has a thicker set of spacers on aswell as i thought it would solve it but no luck
Springs shouldn't be anywhere near the back of the spokes, are they fited right ? Any pics ?
i asume they are fitted right as i have taken the car to various garages for the brakes to be replaiced but no body wants to touch it because its a conversion the ****ers lol so i had to do it but i put them on the same way as they came off :( its cutting quite deep aswel so it looks like a new set of speedlines  cheers
You can kinda see in the pic how the spring is fitted, best way for people to help is for you to put a pic up so folk can see the problem.

I had this when I put on Speedlines with existing ATE 256 brakes. Its the lug which the spring sits against. It might be worse if the pads are brand new.
I used 5mm spacers but when I got around to it, ground/dremelled the lug back so it just had enough size to hold the spring.
Its quite common but not expected when you consider how common Alessios & 16v stoppers are, yet no one mentions it.

In Richs pic, the lugs I refer to look like little 'wings' pointing towards the centre of the disc.
