Fancy having a go at photography so I was going to buy a cheap old film camera from ebay and have a go.

I didnt realise there were so many different makes. Can anyone recommed something good for about ?50-?70?

Anyone know if there is a 'better' make between Olympus, Nikon, Pentax etc etc?

thanks.

only buy the name brands. they are pretty much as good as each other.

Humnnn..... I like my Canon's for SLR use. for that kind of money you can find an EOS300 with the 28 - 70 USM lens easily (Keep an eye on the bay and check out local camera clubs). It makes an ideal starter body, in fact I still have one as a back up camera. Lightweight and easy to use, also the AF on them is still pretty good compared to more modern bodies.

The other nice thing about the Canon's is that the ancillaries are all interchangeable, so if you decided to upgrade you don't have to bin all of your lenses and buy again.

Nikon have settled down with a lens fitting standard now, so this is becoming less of an issue, however it has only been relatively recently that they have one this so there are less compatible second hand lenses hanging about.

Anything you want to know just drop me a PM.

Take it easy.
