Having just fitted solenoids in the doors, i seem to have found myself a problem. The rod from the solenoid which is sposed to do the locking/unlocking can't beattatched to the current set-up. I.e a lttle plastic clip holding the rods that are already on the mechanism won't harness another connection.

Where the hell can i find these little buggers? Is there an alternative?

Anyone had this problem before when retrofitting central locking?

Same probs when fitted CL in my old shell, i had some of them clips off a CL equiped car so just swapped them over, you'll just have to wonder down the scrappy and get a few.
Maybe clips off Cav / Astra ect ... will fit ?

Undo that rod, put the end through the hole of the other one, then put the clip back on

Still uses same 'metal' rods, just the white plastic clips are different.

Make the rod longer(new rod, make one from an old hanger) and connect it further up the door pin rod with a brass 'choc block' affair.

sounds like a plan, it'll certainly be quicker than finding some clips, it's always the little things, huh...!

At the end of the day it gets the job done, may sound alittle bodgey but no one has to look at it and it works well:thumb:

good to hear! by the way, I ended up using some zip ties or whatever you call them, to strap all the rods together. holding out nicely so far!
