righty my freind bought a corsa lately and it had a 1.6 16v engine already installed i was just woundering what the code is for this engine is it somethink like x16.... i think? and also is there any fitting guides to fit this into a 1.0 life mk2?? is it a hard job? cheers guys :thumb:

x16xe engine.i think the c16xe engine is easier to fit out of the early corsa gsi's

I believe it was a c16xe on the early and x16xe on the later corsas.. The c16xe is easier to fit into a nova for the simple fact that you dont have to worry about the imobiliser as it wasnt fitted. The x16xe did have an imobiliser so you would have to pay to have this disbled which can cost a fair bit!

C16xe's are rarer to find for sale.

And wiring the transponder isn't exactly hard, fook paying ?200 to have the ecu chip input removed.

ok so from a more informed point of view what would you guys recomend? theres a corsa gsi down my road i just walked past it on the way home may see if he wants to sell it lol

well waiting and getting a c16xe because its got no transponder thingy or getting a more available engine but having to wire up the 'thingy' lol btw im not the best at wireing but i would be able to do it if someone was telling me what to do cheers

The "thingy", is about 6 wires.
I wired mine in about 15mins.

ok kl thanks for your help i keep changing my mind as to what i want to do but i think between a 1.4sr on t40s and the 1.6 16v ill choose the valver thanks again mate

Ive had both, and i prefer the 1.6 16v.

They dont come close to the noise of twin 40s tho.

yer i think ill have to do the x16xe, makes more sense to have a newer engine. thanks alot for your help mate no doubt ill be contacting you soon for help, also wana sell your engine? lol

if you get one without a transponder i know of someone with an ecu/key/transponder/basically everything youd need to get it running thats not doing anything
