a rescent story of a couple of lads who killed some people in a head on crash after stealing a mondeo (i think) on the m4, were classed as boy racers, i know the story has been mentioned before, but the story and how it was written pissed me off! if i was to go through a red light by accident and a copper had seen me and stopped me, he'd probably call me a boy racer for the fact i have a "big bore" exhaust on my car. so are we being classed as criminals because we are car enthusiasts, id like to the car enthusiast word to be seen more often, rather than this boy racer scum bag name! i think a global petition is in order!

and what do you think will happen to a petition signed by a bunch of forum warriors?

what happened to the road pricing petition?.... ahh yes it was ignored.

Its one of those things, unfortunately.

thats only because people didnt knwo about the petition, this is a different case, this fight will not be about new laws it will be about being recognised as young lads and girls who like cars, not thieving little no liscence ****s!!

ummm 1.15Million people signed the road pricing one.... how did "no one" see that? and it wasnt for a law...

people will always consider a youth dirving "fast" in a small car as a "boy racer" there is no way to change that unless you wipe out 20 years worth of peopel and history lol

its a lost cause. deal with it and maybe attend some english lessons :p

indeed so if 1/30th of a driving community cant get a point across to the govt then there is no way a couple of thousand characters from various croooze forums are going to change the way an entire country thinks.

I'd spend time doing more construtive things than getting annoyed at the BBC news (which gives you gay aids cancer H5N1 foot and mouth all in one hit)

My Celica has alloy wheels, a dump valve and a rather large/considerably loud exhaust. Yet I've not been branded a boy racer by anyone, especially the police (a number of officers have even offered compliments about my car).

Its called sensationalism, considering you were awarded a B in english - or was that GCSE? - I'd assume you had the intelligence to overlook media "opinion"

lol at this thread.

Get a Transit. I can drive that thing like an utter tool, and the police ignore me as its 'the norm' for van drivers, but i think they believe we are on the road enough to know roughly what we're doing. lol

I used to get 20 times more attention from the law in the Nova than i do in the Van, and i drove the nove 20 times more sensibly, because I knew if i so mush as tapped a lampost, id be in traction for a month!

There are too many hero's on the road driving like tools, bored of seeing people do mach 4 round corners then going off their head when they get pulled by the police. Dont drive like a **** an you wont get hassled.

Ive been driving my corsa on the road with tape over all the lights, stickers all over it an stupid intercooler the size of a camper van on the front but Ive only ever been stopped once in it an that was because I didnt have a front number plate lol
