A guy I know has just had his nova c20xe engine set up but it still has a running problem. The car runs fine when its been running and your driving and you floor it but on idle if you rev it it seems to hold back and misfire like its over fueling. I dont know what the engine spec is, but the it has a power boost valve i think its called and the fuel has an adjustable regulator. Personally i dont think much of these as ever engine i have seen them on doesnt run right. Could this be the problem? He has tried a different afm, this made it run a little better but it brought the ecu light on.

The next thing i suggested trying was fitting a standard fuel rail and standard 3bar fuel pressure regulator and also trying one of my spare ecu's

Any other suggestions?

Air leak/spilt vacuum or induction pipe.

Take them all off and check them.

told him to order a coolant temp sensor, one thing to narrow it down although it splutters while under load as well, not just on idle now

my Nova SRI does it aswell mate, but that is because the air flow meter is not plugged in, but also i bent a valve, well 2 and snapped a follower and its got to big valve prints on the pistons lol.
The engine it self is half corsa SRI and half nova SRI lol, nova bottom end and corsa head, but the rocker cover is the nova one as mine is a dizzy and the corsa was a coil pack lol so its a frankinstein machine lol. but yer mine is splutters at high rev idelin like 60mph in 5th gear and 3000 rpm, but wouldn't worry i don't. lol
