View Full Version : Braided brake hoses
Another brakes question lol
Was looking at some Goodridge braided brake hoses for the saloon, but they come in two flavours - one type for the GSi and the other for the SR/GTE. Which would I need to get (the car is a Mk1 with the std 1.0 brake lines)? The car has ATE calipers too, will that affect the choice?
Should both be the same afaik
BUT
a previous thread mentioned some people with lines that dont seem to be long enough, and others that were fine
SOO
I deduce one set is shorter than the other. Maybe ask the sellers if there is a length discrepency between them.
Why there would be though, ill never know!
Perhaps because a gsi/gte is a tad lower than a pov spec, so the hub will sit nearer the inner wing/brake line? hence the line could be a touch shorter.
That could maybe explain it.
one type for the GSi and the other for the SR/GTE.
Not really lol

they are the same, the manufactures probably assumed there was difference an thus made two kits without checking? lol

Seeing as they're all made to order, why not measure a set of OEM ones and get the braided ones made to the same length?
