Right its my birthday in a couple of weeks and me mums getting me some new disks, ive chosen 256mm drilled disks, i was just wondering if they will fit on with my normal 1.2 litre calipers until i can get either 16v or wilwoods? Or should i wait until i have the new calipers aswell?

you will need the calipers to match the 256 discs form a 2ltr cav or similar

Be weary choosing drilled discs, there are horror stories of them splitting. The best 'drilled' ones actually have the hole and countersink cast into them, which makes them more expensive.

Also, what type of wheels do you intend to fit them under?

Have to agree here, id go for grooved discs rather than drilled, theyre much more effective.

is discs are vented anyway why have them drilled, if you run grovved they take the layer of galzed pad off giving you better braking,.you will need 15" wheel are old style astra 14" to run the 256 brakes. new clapers and hangers for the bakes, when you fit them you will need to either bend back or remove the disk ggrude from the hub.

I'd have std GM discs with some really good pads myself.... Ferodo, Mintex or Pagid etc.

There going under my 15'' wheels. Right then so the best option is grooved disks!
Also where is a good place to get them from? On rallydesign they only do 'drilled' or 'drilled and grooved'?

Just buy standard GM disks, and get some super pads.

I'd reccomend the Mintex M1144's for general road use.

Dont be tempted to get "uprated" discs for your 1.2 brakes.

Give http://www.tuning.co.uk/ a ring and ask if they've still got some 256x24mm ATE powerdiscs left. Stuart from there was very helpful when I bought bits from them.
