Difference between mk1 and mk2 3 dr hatch doors?

Can anyone tell me/show me the difference between the early and late doors? i'm presuming it's to do with the check strap fastening?

The main difference is the door handle sizes. You cant fit mk2 door handles on very early mk1 doors.

cheers keith, i'm after some doors for my sport, on a c plate, will have to do some more investigation.
Don't suppose you know what year they changed handle design?

the check straps are different
if i remember correct
on mk2 the parts that fixs to the car is spot welded you chissel of the spot weld an fit the whole mk1 item
i am sure thats was what i did just look at the doors it was simple took about 15 mins
