Transmission questions.

Firstly, I have an F13CR that I'm told has had a 4.18 final drive swapped into it, if i whip the diff cover off can I count the teeth from there or do I need to dissasemble anything? Also, the selector hasnt been bolted onto it so I'm worried that dirt might have got into the box, is there a way I can flush out or clean the "main part" of the inside of the box with out completely stripping it down?


Lastly, is this a 22-spline shaft?

You could remove the bottom diff cover, and run some cheap oil through it to flush crap out.
You would need to count the crown wheel and pinion to find out if its a 4.18 fd.

Remove the inner cv/boot and count the splines, you can tell from the exterior boot/cv if there 22spline, but i cant remember how.

yes that is a 22 spline shaft, you will need th change the cv on the end though. You can tell if its a 22 spline shaft just by looking at the cv joint.
