1993 Model would most probably be a C20NE therefore ~115BHP

IIRC the K reg 8v's & SRi's had the C20NE 115BHP, the earlier SRi's had the more powerful 20SEH which is 130BHP.

Either way they are real good smooth engines and bulletproof if looked after.

they are bullet proof because they dnot make any power an thus cant put any strain on any of the engine.

yea but if you put a c20ne engine in a nova wouldnt bhp go up power to weight ratio aspect ?

lol no thats not how it works, unless you take off the belt driven power steering then maybe you would gain about 0.5bhp. The power to weight ratio would change, i.e more power (although not a lot) but the weight will roughly be the same. At the end of the day the engine is the same engine so how can its power output change just by using it in a different frame.

hey just coz we dont all run stupidly fast bubble cars!! lol

i cant knock the 2.0L 8v, its a cracking engine. phil's right though, the engine wont be any more powerful just because it in a nova
