nova xe springs, astra gte ones!?

hey lads a friend of mine told me when putting a redtop in his nova he used astra gte 16v springs, i think they were spax ones, anyway he cut them down a coil he said, said it handled very well, does this sound very dodgy?lol
also courteneys website quotes 56 pound for front 2ltr springs what are they like? there the clubman ones?

I guess if it sat OK, the springs didnt fall out when the car was jacked, then it should be OK.

You can always have springs tweaked by a spring maker rather than cut them, as they would pig tail the ends properly.

Courtenay ones are pretty good but nowhere near as low as people like to go these days.
