ok i fitted a cheap sub and amp into my mates 106 and it worked fine, but now a month later it sort of burbles when he is brakeing, now i no how to fit a sub i have instaled the whole system in my nova and that is pretty good for budget gear, the earth is good the only thing that we didnt do is run the power opposite sides to the audio cables because we was in a hurry but how could it make this noise lol i just carnt work it out also we thought it was hitting the back of the rear seat so we velcrowed (spelling lol) it down. :thumb:
All i can think of it the current running down the loom to the brakelights are interfering with the audio cables. How about when he indicates / has lights on?

its really hard to explain the noise it makes. its truley odd lol no i dont think it makes a noise when indicating or its not as loud as when braking if we took all the bulbs out the back lights and drove it around (private road) we could see if it still makes the noise?
That wouldnt make a difference as it would still send current down the cables. Unplug the brake light switch above the brake pedal and try it, that will eliminate that theory.
Does it not hum when revved high? Thats noramlly the issue, and an alternator surpressor fixes it.

As said in 1st post. Its electro magnetic interference from having the power wires or RCA's too close to other electrical wires in the car.
if you can give us a better description would be able to tell you what it is.
is it only when braking? is it a whining noise or a spluttering noise like when a car misfires?

well he sold the sub now but its still buging me its a spluttering noise under braking only haha what a mystery
where did you earth it too?
sounds like there could have been a surge being sent up the earth cable as the car braked. which would indicate a short in the wire somewhere.
the powercable and rca along the same side doesnt always have an effect. however it could also have been the cause as if the wires for the brake lights where along the same path as the rca's that would have caused interference.
a simple ground loop installed would have sorted that out.

yer make sure you earth it nowhere near the rear lights and never amp 2 amps to the same place. try that :)

some times it does this when the have the phono come from the headunit twister around all the othere wires in the back of the head unit or visa verca (spelling)! id suggest pulling the head unit out and arrangint the wires neatly
