Heres a wee topic on my current nova-

But first, my old one:

Bought back in 2005 (I think!) as a std 1.3 sr with astra gte alloys and 138,000 on it (good old 8v motors!)
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/Sr%20Pics/NovaSR-1.jpg

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/B-Reg16009.jpg

Drove it as it was for a while before wanting to fit a redtop, but with lack of money or anyone to do the work I ended up having a 1.6 nova gte engine fitted:

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/B-Reg1600.jpg

Then fitted a magnex stainless steel 4-2-1 manny and system which was fine until boxing day 2006:

Basically locked up in the wet and went straight on into a tree!

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/11673523467880.gif

Anyway not one to be defeated I went in search of a replacement shell, and struck lucky with a one owner OAP special with 34,000 on and a wide variety of parking dents!

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/GAB/c-regfront.jpg

However this was all about to change as I guy I knew who had recently bought a nova was selling it to but something diffrent, enter the a-reg:

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/Sr%20Pics/A-reg/DSCI0012-edit.jpg?t=1187738435

Was originally a 1.2 with a custom piper cam, ported and polished head, weber carb, a piper exhaust and an 'unleaded petrol conversion' but when the crankshaft seals went my mate had a 1400 ohc fitted:
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/Sr%20Pics/A-reg/yDSCI0047.jpg

Which didnt run right due to the air filter sucking in too much hot air causing it too cut out, not that we figured that out till after the engine was out!

So when I bought it I then decided to have the 1600 engine fitted :

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/Sr%20Pics/A-reg/DSCI0110-edit-1.jpg

Then had replica 1.3 sr vinyls made up:

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/Sr%20Pics/A-reg/A-reg1-4.jpg

Then replace the 'red' interior

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/Sr%20Pics/A-reg/A-reg1.660.jpg

With the SR seats

C-reg shell was pretty solid but had quite a few dents here and there, but most of the usual areas were solid, would of kept it but I knew the owner of the a-reg when I had my b-reg sr and it was in much better nick.

The blue one got sold to my mates cousin, saw it a couple of weeks later, he had it re- sprayed, (budget style!) lowered on corsa c alloys and fitted gte bumpers, looked quite sweet though.

Anyway Ive put a post up in general as the a-reg took a bit of a whack thursday night so im in the process of sorting it out.

Still got the rear bench vaughan, with rear head rest conversion. Cant seem to shift it though!

Wouldnt mind doing llandow again but got other priorities ATM.

Needs drivers footwell welding as its leaking through there, passenger sill is starting to rot and I reckon the underseal is hiding a few surprises!

Small update from yesterday:

Picked up the new (2nd hand) wing and trial fitted it:

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/Sr%20Pics/A-reg/A-reg%20repairs/SCI0001.jpg

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/Sr%20Pics/A-reg/A-reg%20repairs/SCI00011.jpg

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/Sr%20Pics/A-reg/A-reg%20repairs/SCI00012.jpg

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/Sr%20Pics/A-reg/A-reg%20repairs/SCI00013.jpg

Its not actually a bad fit, most of the shut lines are fairly even, just needs adjusting at the front as its higher than the bonnet at the mo, but its probably gonna stay looking dodgy for now as I'd rather get the mechanicals sorted first.

Should be getting it checked over wednesday morning.

The only other problem is what I found hiding behind the door strips:

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/Sr%20Pics/A-reg/A-reg%20repairs/SCI00014.jpg

Seems as they were riveted in and rot has got in so that'll need addressing as well.

Also got the problem with the rear arch separating form the inner arch:

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d9/novamyth/Sr%20Pics/A-reg/A-reg%20repairs/SCI00015.jpg

But as I say id rather get its steering/ suspension sorted first.

Well not much of an update but got her down the garage today and they couldnt find much wrong with it, they checked the tracking but apparently when I did it by eye I had it near enough spot on anyway!

So hopefully will be making it to santa pod RWYB on saturday, my mate wants to take his starlet glanzia up for the 1/4 mile, should be good as were pretty close in 1st and 2nd.

Also had a quote of ?300 for the bodywork, which seems a bit strange as they said it wouldnt need the arch replacing. Oh well, have to leave it for now, think im siding with BT on the mixed panels idea!

Took it back to the garage yesterday as it was driving a bit iffy, mostly due to having two diffrent width tyres on the front, and under hard acceleration it was veering madly to the right!

Has anyone else got the same problem as this, its running cav cesaros and with the wheel weights on the inside theres literally about 1 or 2mm gap between the track rod ends!

The garage had another look and said that one of the bottom arms is very slightly bent and maybe whats causing the small gap, but anyway re-balanced the wheels, done the tracking and shes now driving sweet again.

If anyone's at santa pod this weekend come say hi, I shouldnt be hard to miss.

Im in to minds whether to keep this or not now, tbh I cant really afford to get it sorted but at the same time I know the shells good and once the few bits of bodywork are done it will be nice again.

Any opinions welcome. :)
