ahhhh its finaly happened the 1 litre nova has broken!
Was down town sticking to the speedlimit went round a corner oil light flickered quite quickly then all the pre ignition lights on the dashboard came up, put my foot on the gas nutten i thought oo mayb i cant hear it, so i put my foot down on the clutch n on the gas nutten DARN!
rolled it onto a staight bit of road put the hazard lights on and waited for daddy to tow me home o.0
I tryed to start it up but hmm well it doesnt start up no tickin ova or anything i hear this click noise lights go dim nothing happens, am starting to think i have seized the engine?
oo and as for police they stopped by me flashed there lights asked my name and said they had seen me before then went on there way thanks a lot f**kers, would of helped me a little bit if i was a girl
Anyone know whats the matter with the nova then 2moz getting up early to check her over just wonderin what i should look for.
Thanks all,

If it turns over then it hasn't seized, the oil light coming on before it cut out doesn't sound to good tho tbh, only thing i ever had probs with on my 1ltr was the points ... once set right it was sweet, maybe worth a look, also worth checking the basics ... plenty oil, plugs, leads, cap & arm ect ...

have you checked the cambelt?
A 1ltr has a chain not a belt.

update!
had a quick look at her with my dad before work.. armed with a haynes manual..
there is power getting to the start motor because the lights go dim. according to the manual.
The clicking noise i can hear is the soilnerd (sc?) which is a gd sound..
i have had spark plug 1 out and tryed to turn it over but no spark? could this be because the engine isnt turning over so no spark happens?
i think it goes like this...
Starter motor > fuel > spark.
so if the engine isnt turning over the engine wouldnt chuck in fuel and a spark dunno am just throwing ideas around here whats next then where do i check, am tempted to whip the head off to see if my worst dream is true or not... if i have seized the engine... :(
thanks all

you wont get a spark as its not turning over, does the engine turn over by hand? if so thats a good sign and try putting some jump leads on it, try it with the negative of the jump leads on the battery an then earth it on the engine.
Like Phil said, try turning over by hand first....
Breaker bar on the crank should do it!
surprised no one has said this yet!
XE it! lol
what ever is wrong with it, it probably is cheaper to replace the engine. Most people are giving away 1lt engines and even 1.2's if you wanted an upgrade.
put my foot on the gas nutten i thought oo mayb i cant hear it, so i put my foot down on the clutch n on the gas nutten DARN!
Pardon? lol
You've tried starting it with jumpleads yet? If not, try that. Sounds like the battery has gone kaput.
would of helped me a little bit if i was a girl
tbh I thought you were lol

UPDATE!
Erm brought a new battery as wasnt sure if the old one was charging or not, well it hasnt affected anything i took the fan belt off to see if prehaps the water pump has seized no it hasnt good good :)
Then tryed to turn it over by hand to my dismay i couldnt! (O no :( )
then put it into 4th gear and could move it so that means the engine isnt seized after all o.0
am starting to think something has happened to the startermotor 2morrow i will whip this off and have a close inspection of it thats all folks

havnt tried bud a couple of my friends think it might be a eletrical fault?

Since it cut out whilst you were driving surely it can't be the starter that is causing the problem? Have you checked the gearbox earth strap, major electrical connections, fuses etc

your annoying me now as you havent done what we said lol, when you use jump leads did you put earth one off the engine itself?
your annoying me now as you havent done what we said lol
lmfao lol
Reason I suggested bump starting it is, if it starts and runs fine after a shove then yes its more than likely something to do with the starter/battery. If you can start it off jump leads then its most likely the battery or charging system thats had it. Just a couple of simple things that would narrow down the fault options, rather than just going on what your mates reckon could be wrong with it.
Although tbh if my car failed to start, jump leads and a bump would be the first things I'd try, long before poking the rest of the engine. Then come on here to ask for advice lol

ok fair enough i suppose here comes the big update :P
1. brought brand new battery wasnt still same affect
2. checked all earths and cleaned them still same problem
3. removed startermotor got a pair of jumpleads from battery to starter motor while not on load works fine.
4. type all the earth etc out of harms way
5. tryed to bump start it nothing the engine doesnt turn over and i couldnt turn it by hand also my next door buddy couldnt either.
CONCLUSION!
oil sensor level thing isnt working, low on oil...
went around a corner at about 40, there for most of the oil probly went to one side, and therefor leaving one side with hardly any oil in.
SEIZED ENGINE! so looks like i need a new engine now :)

then put it into 4th gear and could move it so that means the engine isnt seized after all o.0

Im confused, does it or does it not turn over lmfao
If you were close enough id come down an have a look
ok, I'm going to ask you a strange question, have you checked the oil level recently??
The oil light is for pressure not level. If the engine has been running, the light goes on, you stop & quickly check the oil, the dipstick will be low cos the oil is still in the top of the engine. If you have topped it up, then there is too much oil in the sump. the oil then starts getting past the rings, causing the odd plug to fail, so the unburnt fuel can get into the sump. eventually there is so much stiff in the sump that the pistons can't actually go up & down.
It is just a scenario, but my neighbour did it to his mk2 cavalier a few years back, it got towed home, & it must be the only time I fixed a car with a oil drain tub.

well i put it into 4th gear when i got it home and tryed to move it and i could see the engine turning over but there was 3 of us pushing and puling it up and down my drive way...
i tryed to bump start it last night and basicly the engine isnt moving, all that happens is the clutch starts to slip a bit i think... so looks like i need to source another 1 litre engine lol
the oil was very low i checked it as soon as i got home... it never accured to me that it could be low :( i thought the oil light was the level of oil it has left i guess i found out the hard way :(
