Ok folk i know some of you may know from my last posts that i had a gsi that i bought with the intention of stripping and rebuilding, well i brought it into the workshop a good few months ago to start about it.
I soon realised that it needed a bit of work to get it road going and the shell back to a decent condition.
It had already had a new front end, rear arch repair panels and bottom of door skins, but on further inspection the doors were shot, so were swiftly thrown in the skip.
As for the car after a few week i was offered the chance to snap up a rally prepped shell from my mate so i snapped it up.
so that for now i will update as i go so heres some pics

Gave the engine a power wash to get the years of crap thats builds up on it off, same with the gearbox

i noticed that the thrust bearing tabd that hold it to the fork in the box had broken so i will need to buy a new part for that
Next onto the interior, the seats etc were already taken out so i gave it a tidy up really

Next it was onto stripping and rebuilding the engine with new gaskest etc
so it was stripped and clean then painted to freshen it up

No pics of it at the moment fully built, but picek up a 4 branch and a fse boost valve, but i will get some pics asap, Also gave my fuel yank a rub down painted with rust proof paint and then some anti rust paint from halfords, Not that you will see it as its under the tank guards :twisted:

This is another we project i have been doing, its going to be located behind the grill with the feed straight to the airbox that i have
so a bit of cutting and glue and a bit of fibre glass i got this

The engine on that looks mint! So does the whole car to be fair!
Wee update but nothing to serious, just been cutting all the brackets and the rest of the bulkhead off, also picked up a rear disc conversion kit but not sure if i will use it from hearing that it might over brake the rear a bit much.

Re the rear discs, just use the proportioning valves off the master cylinder of a mk2 Astra GTE 16v. Or Cav SRi with rear discs.

Well finally got my finger out and god on a bit with the car, Been to busyish learning to snowboard lol. Anyway got the drivers sill off, and tidied up a bit, by the looks of it it has had new sills at somepoint in its life, but hey its a nova.

Bloody hell your still about!
lol not seen of you in ages mate, though you had gone off onto other cars or something, glad to see your still going along with this though.

Yeah still about scott, just really been in teh state of mind that i cant be bothered working on the car, plus starting a new job and snowboarding most weeks.
I will get it finished, maybe by this time next year lol

Hey good to see some of the parts for my old sport being put to good use, back panel and sills lol, hope to see this finished in the new year matey.

yeah got the rear panel all lined up, just need it welded on now,(which i cant do) Im hoping to have it done by this time next year lol
Well small update no pics as yet, but some changes of plans.
I had originally cut out the spare wheel well and was going to flat plate it but have now reverted to using one again, So i cut the rear end off the white gsi that pete was going to be using, so i tidied it all up and its now back in place ready to be welded in.
Also spoke to a guy about getting that car welded up so thats going to start around feb at some point, so better get the finger out and cut the other sill off. Had also thought about getting the shell acid dipped of blasted but not sure of either route just yet.

Should be able to sort it, have to remember this is aused rally car shell and previous circuit racer also. Its just the floors been hit by something anyway

both sheels were not worth saving in my eyes, due to welding costs and time, it was decided to find a better sheel which i have.
