well, been building a decent spec engine over the past year, finnished a few months ago so needed to start looking for a decent shell to put it in,
spent a while searching and SRLew's 1.4sr came up, went to have a look and a deal was done,

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v171/seangtturbo/nova2.jpg

So out came the twin 40'd sr lump which was sold on,
seam welded the front end ect, gearbox mount removed ready for the f28 mount to be welded on.

engine on the stand itching to be put in the car

Thanks for all the nice comments!

had it running a few days ago, all be it a little rough due to the base map im running which is for a standard c20let with standard injectors, so was overfueling quite bad with my 750cc's, did manage to get it fueling a little better in the end.

what kind ov price was the omax mate? who's doin its final map when done?
i got the omex through my mate who is a main distrubter for them, came in at around 580, thats with a semi assembled loom and all connectors,
for final mapping i think il be going noble motorsport.

wilkogsi1

17-09-07, 10:18 PM
Spec looks impressive !!
What kinda cost was the inlet (if you don't mind me asking), is alloy or steel ?
it'll be a weapon once its done, mines just shy of 300bhp, so 450bhp .... !! :D

seannova
23-09-07, 02:54 PM
inlet from blueprint was 300, then around 360 for a swedish plenum and around 120 for a throttle body, so not far off 800 when its complete,
inlet is stainless

hope to have it on the road mid/late october hopfully, its going in for its exhaust system to be made up friday, then its just a bit of pipework left!
yeah, inlet was expensive but thats all down to the fact that theres no off the shelf parts like this for the c20let unfortunatly, so it has to be custom made.

seannova
08-12-07, 11:59 PM
not drove it yet, i have a map ready for it to run it in on which it fired up first time on, the omex really is a decent bit of kit,
looking to get it mapped in january which will either be at THOR racing or noble motorsport

JSeymour
09-12-07, 12:01 AM
what a slut you've made that nova! i love it.

chrisnovaturbo
09-12-07, 12:15 AM
did u get the map from omex? the map i got was just a base map to get it running. mine is over fuelin realy bad but if i turn the it up or down is wont idle. need to build a new engine built before i get mine mapped. do some vids of it when u get it on the road will be good to see.

seannova
09-12-07, 12:30 AM
the map i have is off a mate, its only mapped to 3k rpm but its only to get a few miles on the engine before i get a full map,
Are you running an icv or using the scatter spark?

chrisnovaturbo
09-12-07, 06:50 PM
scatter spark. on your inlet have you still got the big water pipe that goes to the water pump?

seannova
09-12-07, 07:15 PM
as your not using the icv anymore you may need to adjust the idle by adjusting the throttle linkage stop on the rear of your tb,that may be why you cant get it to idle without overfueling, i had simular probs when i first started on a std inlet.
my custom inlet doesnt use the rear water feed off the pump,

chrisnovaturbo
09-12-07, 10:49 PM
the plenum is that off the shelf or custom? i will put my car on here now ive done 15 posts lol

you have to be careful of the lazy drivers, yeah them who touch your bumper(in your case intercooler ouch)just to make sure they have enough room to pull away.
by the way very nice it looks a beast:thumb:

chrisnovaturbo
27-12-07, 05:26 PM
it looks front hevey, what springs you got on the front? love the intercooler, you can tell that there is big power when you look at the front.

Lee H
28-12-07, 01:00 PM
Rear bumper needs to go back to grey to match the front, then it will look really well.

Also lose the square rear number plate, looks odd.

Love the engine spec etc.

Not a big fan...

It looks as if you have gone a bit sleeper with the bumpers/skirts etc... then slapped the biggest, most offensive intercooler on there which contradicts the sleeper-ness!

I am sure you can get an intercooler which is just as efficient without looking like that!!

EUROTURBO
31-12-07, 12:29 PM

yeah, 280 suprised me, mapper said would of been an easy 300+ if we went to 7k

Nice work there i just read all this post for the first time there and i like it. Good work bud :thumb: :thumb:

Just need to say tho that if your spinning till 4th just now at the 340bhp why would you want to run 450bhp when it will just spin even more and not help you up the 1/4mile

I bet this takes a bit of holding onto about the streets eh

SRlew

sounds a beast sean! good time aswell imo especialy if your spinning up in 4th, be good to see the time when you get your diff on!

Nice mate.
Id colour code the front bumper, or fit a grey rear....

And grind the end off the cv joint so the speedline centre cap fits ;)

no way cant believe it got broke.

seannova
16-05-09, 02:22 PM
yep, it got broke, basicly the new oil pump which i got from a well know company died, all the gear inside broke into peices wrecking my bottom end, crank screwed, spun bearings, to say i was gutted is an understatment, at the time i just didnt have the heart or the money to put it back on the road, which is a shame as it had massive potential and good results even on the very little boost it was running at the time. a mate of mine has the shell and is very close to being back on the road running a c20xe,
i myself have had a few cars since, a honda civic eg running a b20 lump, currently have an impreza wagon running 315bhp which is up for sale as i miss my vauxs, as soon as its gone il be building another c20let to the same spec as the nova was running but in a corsa/tigra this time
