right as ive given my nova one last chance im going to gut it then rebuild it.
but whilst the engine's going to be out i might aswell change it.
what engine do u lot reccomend apart from a red top i,e gsi engine and gte engine.i want do make it look smart but not over the top i want a gsi look tho.what do u lot reccomend to do sorry for the pointless thread folks.

well what you want from the out come of the engine change an what is your budget. Xe's are put in for a reason, just alot of people dont want to admit to wanting to do it.

The E16SE, C16SE, C16XE and C20XE conversions are popular because they are the cheapest, easiest paths to more power from smaller, lower powered engines. Yes, you can tune a 1.4 SR to have around the standard power of a 1.6MPI, but the 1.6MPI will be much cheaper and easier to drive daily in standard form.

c20xes are as standard common for a reason. A GTE/GSI conversion is ok if upgrading from a 1.2 for example.
