k&n rattling?

yet another question!
right, since i fitted my new k&n air filter on my 1.4 sr, i have heard this wierd almost rattling noise, it usually happens at mid rev's. ive checked to see if its tight enough and tightened all the loose bits, but its still doing it.
any ideas?

is it the plate on ur exhaust manifold ratling?

which plate? is it near the hot air duct which led into the old air filter?
i recently had a weld done on a bracket (under the car) holding the manifold.

It'll be the exhaust manifold heat shield. Its a thin piece of metal that sits above the manifold. Its held in place by several small bolts. Mine rattled when car got to about 3000rpm, turned out one of the bolts holding it in place had sheared due to corrosion. It was still firmly held in place, and i didnt fancy my chances removing the other well rusted up bolts, so instead i just stuffed some wire wool between the manifold and the shield and it worked a treat. Ran perfect for 2 years until my car was written off. ;)
