having trouble finding a 1.6 engine so was thinking about a 1.6 16v out of a corsa sport! what would it need to be put in a nova,, such as exhaust, mounts shafts etc?? :thumb:

22 (GTE/GSi) spline shafts, standard mounts as far as I'm aware. Unsure about exhaust a bit of a custom job required probably, Ad (Long Live the Nova) will be able to tell you as he put a 1.6 16v in his.
Any shafts fit fine, as its a small block engine/gearbox.
Standard OHC mounts.
Depending which 1.6 16v you get, theres only a few wires to wire up.
C16xe is easier to fit and wire.

cool,, will a 1.6 16v out of an astra fit? there seems to be a few of them around!!

yes
I wouldn't be so sure, the astra engine has a different inlet, which is longer, and looks a tighter fit in a nova bay.
And it has less power.

swap the inlets?
but the astra engine uses the same head as the 1.4 16v, the engine code is x16xel, l=low output! the head on a c16xe, x16xe use a different head, vales are bigger. astra, vectra enignes are poo imo find a corsa gsi engine youll be better off waiting for the right engine!
Its only a power difference of about 5hp tho.
I bet fitting a x16xe inlet would get that power back.
ya but if ya wanted to tune one surely having the extra valve face area would help? also on another note some of the 1.6 16v engines use a redtop style manifold, i used to think that they were single point injection but had a goodluck the lastday, id say one of those would be better on a x16xe than the standard manifold? kinda like this fella?
