View Full Version : will this setup work on my nova? carbs
hey lads looking at a 1.3 astra mk2 rallycar, its been sat a while as its crashed, it has twin 40 webers, some sort of cam, uprated ignition, anyway if i wanted to fit the carbs to my c16se id need a different inlet ya? also will the cam work or will i need a 1.6 specific cam? i have a 1.4 sr cam housing and dizzy so other than that itl be staight foward? what kind of power will i get? also would there be any point using the 1.3 head even if its had work done? al i no is that the car was very competitive when it was rallying! cheers.
aslong as the cam has a drive for your dizzy (pin or slot) then you can use it in your current setup.
Id sell the 1.3 head as its bound to be worth something where as assuming youve got a 1.6 mpi head its "better" than a worked 1.3 head imho
You need a sr coil/module/loom as well as the dizzy.
he will only need the sr coil/module/loom etc if he cant use his own dizzy on the uprated cam, i changed the drives over to put a 1600 gsi engine into my sr nova on a carb with the sr dizzy, simple really just ball ache
il just use the igntion setup from the astra. what kind of power will i see?
What will the engine be?
1600 8v?
Twin webers, and some form of cam?
Depends on what cam.
The carbs will need setting up too.
Probably around 120/130bhp, depending on cam.
ya 1.6 8v and trying to get a b+head, rally cam dont dont no how good thats going to be, twin 40's and a 4 branch, i have a guy setting up the whole lot so wanting to see 125bhp hopefully!
