I don't know if my accelerator is now on its way out or not .
Basically, noticed when i was driving along last night, it seems sort of loose, like if u were to touch it with your hand, you could push it down loosely a good 2cm (Like pressing a piano key).

Its making it hard to get a bite point , therefore car is quite jumpy at moving from idle.

What could it be ???

check the cable - probably slipped (or stretched?) from the carb (if u have a carb that is?) Have a look at the pedal in general - haynes manual could help.
Providing you have a cable and not some electric sensor thing?

its a mk1 1.3SR , pierburg carb so standard .
Will have to check it out in more detail when i got 2 mins spare. Has to be summit quite basic really .

Mine did that and i got the cable changed and it was ok. i think it just streches or gets worn.

Or just need's tightening ?
It dont necessarily mean its fucked, or does it ?

LOL. nova parts get worn but seem to go on forever. my cluch has been going out for months now, along side my starter motor which gives a grunt when i start her up in the mornings.
