No. The dealers have run out of the white cup bushes on the linkage which is the likely culprit. I cant get any from the source of bits in Luxembourg, Steve.

Just Made A Rose Jointed Gear Linkage !!! Its A Work Of Art!! It Really Feels More Positive And Can Engauge Gears Quicker!!

you want to be cautious about engaging gears too fast as the synchros and baulk rings might start to give up much much faster.

I cant imagine fitting rose joints would actually make the physical change quicker.... Its not like its mechanically any more efficient.

Removing play from the linkage, will mean that the lever is acting on the box more quickly.
I wouldn't be worried about it, when just improving the linkage tho.

Its quickshift levers etc that may start causing problems, not giving the synchro's enough time to "match"

Hmm my headache isnt the shifter linkage, its the gearstick, its spins a bit and rocks also can be raised a bit. if you're moving off in first gear from a standstill its a bit of a fight to go in first gear, i usually go 2nd gear then first, whilst driving its not as bad but can be a pain to movce off

thats easy. if you look down in where the gear stick goes, you will see to 10mm(?) nuts, these work lose now and then so you just need to tighten them up

short shift kit good or bad? and what about a rose jointed short shift kit ?

short shift = bad
iirc short shift rosed jointed linkage doesn't work to well, but that maybe if you match the top rod to the lenght of the lower '?' shape.

Doubt they are loose, my bro says there is a kevlar (or whateva the plastic is called) ring that hold it in place and it is possible that its worn....anyone can shed some light on this? I do notice most of the plastic materials holding the gearstick in place are worn n cracked....note this is a former race car

You might get lucky and find a corsa one fits, and you might have to fit the corsa rear gearbox mount to do so. Some people seem to find they fit, others find they dont.

The corsa one has harder plastics so doesnt wear as much.
