I mind ages ago you were suggesting Valves for a Small block head, well i got a very good well maintained Kadette 1300s(!!!) Engine. I've sourced a 1400 bottom end, sent the Fly wheel and head to get lighted and ported and wanna fit larger valves, are 14mpi or even 16sv ones any benifit or iirc 2.0 ones were mentioned? I have most of these laying around me garage and instead of dumpig them, i thought i'd make use of them!!
Also, is skimming the head going to beifit me, if so, how mush should i take off?

erm well I measured up a 20xe inlet valve and it was the same diameter and stem size was the same (not sure on the length and collets fitting the retainers)

this was for std inlets.

as for skimming, erm measure the CR and then work it out. imho 10.5:1 or even 11:1 if you have a 300deg cam

Na, its getting a little head work ad thats it, dont wat to go mad or spend too much with mods so at best maybe a 1400SRi Cam, r is te 1600 Carb'd or SV unit better? Open to suggestions here though....

LMAO, so the 1400MPi one is the best of a bad bunch, Would fitting the MPi Valves make any sort of differece or not worth the bother?

not worth the bother. its better to fit the 1.4 mpi head but no single carb inlet fits it wihtout mods

If your using a single carb then use a 1200/1300 head.
Or 14se with the ports opened out to cathedral shape.

14se head is the best of the std gm heads.
