Clean?? For a GTE, that is MINT.

For some reason GTE's rot the most (in my experience)

Sell it to me.

Nice.

I'd drop out the engine & go crazy with the degreaser. Like Will says, most GTE's are proper rotten by now.

Cherish it.

well the above car is rotten, not a lot at all tho. But its hardly MINT.

As mentioned chap - youve a good find there. Just clean it up and away you go. Look at Luke langtons' project thread in project room; thats MINT.. he can advise you on how to clean up all those bits n bobs ..

Rotten? only rust im seeing is on the front drivers side wing, big deal. Thats in excellent condition for a nova gte. Most "mint" novas that are found are 1.0 or saloons, i.e cars owned by old people who barely drove them, to find a higher spec nova in such condition is a rarity.

ROTTEN??? Are you looking at the same car????

I know that MINT means different things to different people, its not pristine/concours but its in VERY good condition (if not mint!)

What rot are you seeing??? I see a bit of oil/dust in teh engine bay and one of the arches has very slight corrosion and the base of the rear panel has a bit of rust!!!

Its definetaly not mint but its in good nic for a gte, as already said gtes and sr's are the most abused and therefore dont get looked after very well.

That just needs a good clean and a bit of tidying up, good find i'd say.

Theres not alot of rust just a little on the arches and a little on the driver's wing, apart from that its good, i've started undersealing the whole car, can anyone tell me whats the best stuff to use to get all the grease of the engine.:thumb:

More car places like motorworld do engine degreasers, gunk is the most popular, normally apply it when engine is hot and then hose it off, for the engine bay I can't remember what I used, might have been carb cleaner and a rag but came up as new!

Gunk is good stuff for degreasing the engine, as Ive used it on many engines! You've got a nice looking GTE mate, very rare in such good condition, Look after it mate.
